Sugarlesque Craft Parlour at the What Katie Did boutique London

Indulge your inner showgirl and learn to craft burlesque accessories in a setting

Independent lingerie designer Ruka Johnson is delighted to be hosting monthly craft workshops at the What Katie Did boutique on Portobello Road. The vintage boudoir setting of the famous boutique lends itself perfectly to a sunday afternoon learning to make nipple tassels whilst you browse the bullet bras.

On the first sunday of every month, you are invited to sip tea from vintage china and nibble on traditional English cakes in the newly refurbished boudoir area of the boutique. You are invited to learn how to make a pair of nipple tassels or a feather fascinator, all materials are included and you will receive a 10% What katie Did discount to use on the day of the workshop.

Sunday 6th June
Sunday 4th July

Nipple Tassel workshop (£30)
Feather Fascinator workshop (£45)

Free press passes are available, please email

Sugarlesque was founded by Ruka Johnson, a London girl obsessed with pretty things in 2007, launching her debut lingerie collection in 2009. A former burlesque starlet, she started making nipple tassels and costumes for other showgirls. Her designs grew so popular that she set up online, also landing several stockists both nationally and internationally. After seeing the success of her nipple tassels, she decided to turn her hobby into a business and branch out into one of her favourite things – lingerie. Now running lingerie brand Sugarlesque and making nipple tassels for companies such as MYLA, Ruka also teaches the art of crafting burlesque accessories once a month in the What Katie Did boutique.
